Customize the Bot Name

Rename the Ventus Prime bot in Microsoft Teams to match your organization's branding.

This step is optional. By default, the bot appears as "Ventus Prime" in Teams.

If you want the bot to display a custom name — for example, "ABC-GPT" — across your entire organization's Teams environment, a Microsoft Teams Administrator can rename it through the Teams Admin Center.

Prerequisites

  • You must have the Teams Administrator (or Global Administrator) role in your Microsoft 365 tenant.
  • The Ventus Prime app must already be installed in your organization.

Step 1: Open the Teams Admin Center

Go to the Microsoft Teams Admin Center and sign in with your admin account.

Step 2: Find the Ventus Prime App

In the left sidebar, navigate to Teams appsManage apps.

Use the search bar to find "Ventus Prime" and click on it to open the app details.

Step 3: Customize the App

  1. Click the Customize button at the top of the app detail page.
  2. Change the Short name field to your desired name (e.g., ABC-GPT).
  3. Optionally update the icon and description to match your organization's branding.
  4. Click Apply to save your changes.

The new name will propagate across your organization's Teams environment. Users will now see and mention the bot using the custom name you configured.

Changes may take a few minutes to propagate across all Teams clients in your organization.
